Oh, and be sure to check back soon as we will be posting some of our favorite shots from our upcoming weekend sessions.

Our Miss M

Being a photographer can sometimes be torture on our kids. They roll their eyes when the camera comes out. And, I'm not going to lie, my kids complain about getting family pictures taken just as much as other kids do, if not more. The work around is to shoot individuals without their siblings around. And that is just what we did for these photos of our daughter.

As a photographer, I love them. As a parent I adore them. This is 100% percent her at this stage in her life and I'm so glad it's documented so we can always remember.

The Lowe's

Sometimes I think photographing your friends is cheating. But really, photography is about connections so knowing your subject just makes it all that much better (and easier). Plus, how can you not have a good time and smile when you are sharing Nacho Libre quotes the whole time. Love you guys! Thanks for letting us take your photos.

Their shoot was a pretty good sample of what a typical family session is, we do groupings but always like to get some individual shots too. Plus, of course, we never pass up the zany shots.

Brett & Shandra

We LOVE doing engagement shots. They are so fun and they bring back so many good memories. Brett and Shandra contacted us and they had a little different deal than normal. They wanted engagements shots and family photos - it was a two-fer! Perfect! They were getting married and while they wanted pictures of just the two of the them, they also wanted to include Shandra's little girl too. After all, they were soon to be a forever family and wanted to document it right from the get-go. It was great and here's just a few of our favorites from our time with them.

I love the fall colors and I adore this little girl - she totally knew how to work the magic for the camera and if we weren't losing light, we would have kept shooting this cute little family. Thanks guys! We thought it was a great session.

Mr Cute!

Seriously! I don't even need to say anything about these photos... well, okay, maybe just one thing - CUTE!!! He was such a great photo subject, so smiley.

40th Wedding Anniversary

40th wedding anniversaries are not very common and I'm always impressed when I hear about people celebrating them. This couple made it to that milestone and their kids, all 9 of them, pulled together a wonderful weekend celebration where they honored their parents. Honestly, it was very moving to see how their family interacted with each other and how much they loved their parents, and really, how much their parents loved each other. It was heart-warming and we were thrilled to be a part of it.

High School Senior

Our high school senior sessions usually involve clothing changes and props. Lots of primping and make up touch-ups. Yet, they are some of my favorite shoots. The kids enjoy the fact that it's all about them. They aren't sharing the spotlight with siblings and it's a right of passage so to speak. I know that's how I felt many years ago when I had mine done and I'm pretty sure this is how she felt too. Isn't she beautiful?!

Smile? I think not.

This little guy has so much personality and I think we were able to capture some of it in these shots. However, no matter how hard we tried he would not give us the full, toothless smile we were after. It's almost like you can see the determination to not smile in his eyes. The pressed lip smirk (which is adorable) is the most he was willing to give. Such a cutie!
